WTRE Celebrated the “Farmer of the Day” this year at the Decatur County Fair. Kylie Huber Olsen, a 3rd generation farmer, from the St. Paul area, is our Farmer of the Day. Kylie and her husband Justin and 2 daughters – Sadie and Nora, continue to raise cow/calves at their home and Kylie also works with her parents on their farm, also with cow/calf pairs. Kylie grew up on a Dairy farm that began with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Huber and followed suit with parents Brian and Shirley Huber, who recently retired their dairy herd. Kylie and her siblings all spent time at the barn and continue, along with the grandkids, to be a part of the daily landscape at the farm. Kylie is also a Vet Tech, with several years experience, and is currently enjoying being a stay at home Mom and working with her family.

Construction project to close I-70 exit ramp in Hancock County
GREENFIELD, Ind — A construction project on Interstate 70 will have a major impact on residents of Hancock County starting Friday night. The exit ramp from I-70 eastbound to State Road 9 in Greenfield will close for approximately 30 days starting at 9 p.m. on July 19. The closure is part of a traffic shift that is already impacting traffic on the interstate, including the closure of the ramp from State Road 9 onto I-70 eastbound.

GREENSBURG, Ind. (WKRC) - Authorities are requesting assistance with locating a missing Indiana woman who is believed to be in extreme danger. According to authorities, 19-year-old Mia Wilson went missing from Greensburg, Indiana. She was last seen on Wednesday, July 17 at 6:00 p.m. Police believe she may be in the Cincinnati area.
Johnson County, IN to Build New $2.5M Recycling Center
Construction will start soon on a new county recycling center in Franklin. The Johnson County Solid Waste Management District Board awarded a bid to Runnebohm Construction Co. last month for the construction of a new 10,000-square-foot recycling center. A bid for $2.5 million was approved, but the county council has approved a $3.2 million total bond that also includes soft costs and contingency funds.

Mrs. Rose Marie Albertson, 85, of Carmel, formerly of Morristown and Pekin, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024 in Carmel. Mrs. Albertson was born on March 12, 1939 to Forrest I. and Pauline (Ashabraner) Gray in Washington County, Indiana. She was raised in Pekin and graduated from Pekin High School in 1957. She married Lowell E. Albertson on July 12, 1957 in her parents’ home. She continued to live in the Pekin area until 1977, when the family moved to Morristown, Indiana. Her husband preceded her in death on December 12, 2023.
