HISTORIC AQUEDUCT DAMAGED
(Metamora, IN)--Indiana’s Department of Natural Resources is assessing damage to the historic Aqueduct in Metamora after storms earlier this week. High water brought a large tree down Duck Creek, which then crashed into the aqueduct’s base. The aqueduct is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is the only one of its kind left in the entire country.

Parts of County Roads 500N, 500 W closed Monday
COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Highway Department announced Friday that two roads will close temporarily early next week. County Road 500N, between State Road 9 and County Road 825E, will be shut down to through traffic on Monday, July 15, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Maintenance crews will replace a culvert.

Repeat Offender Caught with Methamphetamine in Columbus, Indiana
A man from Columbus, Indiana, was arrested earlier this month after police found about 19 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop. According to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, the man, 48-year-old Marlon Cowan Jr., was arrested for possessing methamphetamine, which is a serious crime, and also for having drug paraphernalia, which he had been convicted of before.
