NORTH VERNON, Ind. — Jeff and Anna Walker, who live in Jennings County, are talking to people about their new project, Manna House. Anna explained that pastors often feel overwhelmed and stressed because they take care of so many people. HOPE, Ind. – The Students’ Fund of Hope (SFOH) is preparing for its 2024 Back 2 School Prayer Circle and School Supply Giveaway set for early next month. SFOH is a nonprofit that started by helping support student lunch accounts for Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corporation students and now provides school students and staff with assistance in all situations. Greenwood woman accused of leaving child, 6, in hot car for nearly an hour
A Greenwood woman is facing child neglect charges after prosecutors say she left a child inside a car for nearly an hour during high temperatures. Ivory Patton, 29, is charged with neglect of a dependent where the defendant places the dependent in a situation that endangers them, a Level 6 felony. Cummins receives DOE money for historic switch to making electric engines
COLUMBUS, Indiana — A Cummins plant with a long history of producing diesel engines will use federal money to switch to making electric motors and batteries. The Columbus Engine Plant, known within Cummins as a cornerstone of its operations, is set to undergo a significant transformation. With a $75 million grant from the Department of Energy and an additional $75 million from Cummins, the plant will be renovated to accommodate the production of electric powertrains overseen by Accelera, a Cummins division.
Bernice Martin
Bernice (Lewis) Martin, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2024, in Bradenton, Florida where she had lived for the past nine years. She was a longtime resident of Franklin, Indiana and was born in Johnson County to Herbert and Hattie (Sims) Lewis on February 5, 1934. She was married to Richard Lee Martin in 1951. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1992.
