Traffic stop Thursday in North Vernon leads to DUI, gun charges
A traffic stop on Thursday evening in North Vernon led to the arrest of a motorist on weapon and other charges, police report. The stop that led to the arrest of 54-year-old Andy L. Edgar of North Vernon started at about 8:15 p.m. when North Vernon Officer Nathan Vogel stopped a white Chrysler 300 for speeding in the 800 block of South State Street, according to a news release from Sgt. Isaac Barkes.
Local church to celebrate 200 year-anniversary
Fayette County is now over 200 years old. Most of it was sliced from Franklin County in 1819. Included in the list of churches that are still functioning after 200 years, is the Village Creek Primitive Baptist Church, located about one mile southeast of Connersville, nestled behind Village Creek Estates, at 1090 S Co Rd 150 E. It was organized July 24, 1824 at the home of Robert Gilky.

Accelera by Cummins awarded $75 million for zero-emissions manufacturing from Department of Energy
Cummins recently announced that the company has been awarded $75 million to convert approximately 360,000 square feet of existing manufacturing space at its Columbus (Indiana) Engine Plant for zero-emissions components and electric powertrain systems.
