Mary Lasiter
Mary Edith Lasiter, 90, of Greenwood, passed away on July 9, 2024. She was born on May 17, 1934 in Spencer Co. IN to the late Homer Wheeler and Nora (Miles) Wheeler. Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed mall walking, and going out to eat at her favorite restaurant, Four Seasons, where she and Don were regulars since they opened. She loved to travel with her husband, to include Sunday drives and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Not unlike seeing your teacher in the grocery store, the idea that an author as an actual person was disconcerting. It was the first time I realized that being an author was a possible life plan.

Phyllis, 82, passed on to the afterworld on June 30, 2024. She was born in Gary, IN, on April 16, 1942, and was raised in Indianapolis and Morgantown, Indiana. She raised her family in Indianapolis and spent her final decades in Knightstown. She was a free-spirit and humanitarian, passionate about her family, friends, the performing arts, photography, and travel.

Donnetta L. Alig Anderson
Donnetta “Donna” L. (Alig) Anderson of Columbus, IN, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Traditions of Columbus. She was predeceased by her much-loved husband, Theodore “Ted” Anderson of Columbus, IN, with whom she created many happy memories in the latter years of their lives. She leaves three beloved children from her first marriage to Gene Alig: Robert (Shari) Alig, Cheryl (Jerry) Barber, and Carol Swaim; two stepchildren: Gail (Joel) Gustafson and Glen (Jane) Anderson and; and many adored grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

‘Chaotic Tuesday’ to fire up famed sculpture
One of Columbus’ most iconic artworks will come to life during a free and family-friendly event at noon most Tuesdays at The Commons, 300 Washington St. During “Chaotic Tuesday” events, staff at The Commons bring to life “Chaos I,” the kinetic sculpture by the late Swiss artist Jean Tinguely. Bruce B. Isaacson
Bruce Bernard Isaacson, 82, of Columbus, Indiana was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 10, 2024. Bruce was born Feb. 3, 1942, in Jamestown, NY to the late Yngve and Alice Isaacson. He attended Jamestown High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a radioman where he acquired skills and knowledge that prepared him for his subsequent career in the telephone industry. He worked for the Jamestown Telephone Company and Automatic Electric Company before going into business for himself for over 30 years. His contracting business, JM Bruce, Inc., installed and repaired sophisticated switching equipment for major telephone corporations in the northeastern United States. In his later years, Bruce worked as a bus driver for Bemus Point Schools and greatly enjoyed his friends in Ham Radio clubs in Chautauqua County. Bruce could always be counted on to fix any technological or electrical problems his friends or family encountered.
