Greenwood woman accused of leaving child, 6, in hot car for nearly an hour
GREENWOOD — A Greenwood woman is facing child neglect charges after prosecutors say she left a child inside a car for nearly an hour during high temperatures. Ivory Patton, 29, is charged with neglect of a dependent where the defendant places the dependent in a situation that endangers them, a Level 6 felony. She was formally charged Wednesday in Johnson Superior Court 2.

Cummins receives DOE money for historic switch to making electric engines
COLUMBUS, Indiana — A Cummins plant with a long history of producing diesel engines will use federal money to switch to making electric motors and batteries. The Columbus Engine Plant, known within Cummins as a cornerstone of its operations, is set to undergo a significant transformation. With a $75 million grant from the Department of Energy and an additional $75 million from Cummins, the plant will be renovated to accommodate the production of electric powertrains overseen by Accelera, a Cummins division.
Trafalgar Town Hall to close for mold remediation
Trafalgar’s Town Hall will be closed for a week at the end of July for mold remediation. Several types of mold were recently discovered during an indoor air quality test of the town hall, located at 2770 State Road 252.
