The Water Lantern Festival in St. Paul will be held on July 27 and promises a "magical night" including food and music.

The festival will take place in the Phalen Beach House at Phalen Park. Food trucks and music will run from 6-10 p.m and starting at 8 p.m., people can begin designing their paper lanterns.

The lanterns will be launched at 8:30 p.m., creating a tranquil, luminous effect on the water.

The festival encourages attendees to write something meaningful on their lantern, saying the festival can help attendees overcome personal challenges or set goals, and can be a healing experience.

The event, which started in 2018 over multiple cities in the U.S, is hosted by One World Lantern Festival LLC.

For those who care about sustainability, One World has made that a priority as well. Lanterns will be cleaned up after the festival, and staff will pick up trash around the water.

The lanterns themselves are made out of rice paper and wood, and the LED candles provided will also be re-used.

Tickets will come with the floating lantern kit and an LED candle, with the prices listed below.
