Anyone hoping to catch Aerosmith live one last time will have to dream on.
Aerosmith's "Peace Out: The Farewell Tour" has been canceled, including the band's Jan. 22 show at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul , the band announced on Friday.
While singer Steven Tyler has worked to bounce back from a vocal cord injury, he has not been able to recover to the extent that the band can continue to tour.
"We've always wanted to blow your mind when performing, " the band wrote on social media. "[Tyler] has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury. We've seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision — as a band of brothers — to retire from the touring stage."
The farewell tour was announced in May 2023 and started with a September show in Philadelphia. However, on the third night of the tour, Tyler hurt his vocal cords. The band postponed tour dates. In speaking with doctors afterward, further damage was discovered and the tour was ultimately canceled.
In April, new dates were announced with The Black Crowes — who were supposed to appear at this summer's Minnesota Yacht Club Festival but canceled at the last minute .
Fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will automatically receive a refund. Anyone who purchased tickets through platforms like SeatGeek, StubHub, and VividSeats will need to reach out to the company for details.
