Grand Island, Neb. — After decades of running together, a train and its conductor are set to part ways. Train conductor and engineer Ken Scholl and Sweet Tooth and Stolley Park train manager Christy Scholl are moving on to their next chapter and moving to South Dakota to be closer to family.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A November trial is scheduled for a Grand Island man on felony charges connected to coercing a teen into joining a motorcycle club. Jay Friedricksen, 33, is now charged with aiding and abetting theft, unlawful membership recruitment and conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A year has passed since the first legal sports bet in Nebraska, and casinos in the state have brought in more than $2.6 million. Louisiana wins 4-H Shooting Sports national championship
Victoria McClung of Bossier City won the small-bore rifle category in the Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships held June 23-28 in Grand Island, Neb. McClung helped the Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports Team win its fourth championship in the last five years. That includes a second-place finish last year and the event being canceled due to COVID restrictions in 2020.

Grand Island man accused of speeding at 151 mph while intoxicated
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island man whose car was clocked at 151 mph is charged with drunk driving and reckless driving. Court records show 54-year-old Jason Hornady is charged with first offense driving under the influence, second offense reckless driving, racing on a highway and speeding. GI Home Federal Host Pius X Wednesday
(Grand Island, NE) - The Grand Island Home Federal baseball team will return home Wednesday, July 3rd hosting Pius X Union Bank & Trust for a doubleheader starting at Noon. Game two (On KRGI 1430/105.5 & krgi.com) will follow at approximately 2:30 pm. GI is coming into the matchup with a 23-8 record after going 3-2 at the Mike Peterson Tournament in Lincoln this past weekend. Home Federal matchup with Pius X on Friday winning by a final score of 11-2. GI had a big top of the 5th inning in that game opening up the scoring with six runs and adding three more runs in the 7th inning for the victory. The loss for Pius X snapped a 16-game winning streak. Pius X will come into today's matchup with a 28-8 record.
