Sandhills Lavender Farm brings visitors to fragrant fields
DANNEBROG, Neb. — Fragrant fields bloom in central Nebraska as the scent of lavender fills the air. A Howard County farm has grown lavender the last few years, turning into a variety of products and now they open the farm to the public to pick their own at Sandhills Lavender Farm.
Public Design Meeting Planned For Proposed Grand Island Skate Park
Grand Island, Neb. — The Grand Island Parks & Recreation Department is looking to hear from the local skateboarding community on a proposed new skate park for the city. A public design meeting for what a new skate park could look like in Grand Island is planned for Thursday, July 11 from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the digital lab room of the Grand Island Public Library, which is located at 1124 W. 2nd Street.
Grand Island mother faces charges after baby’s death from suspected abuse
HOLDREGE, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island woman whose baby daughter died this month from brain injuries will be in court next month to face charges. Court records show 21-year-old Elaina Nietfeld, formerly of Holdrege, is charged with two counts of intentional child abuse. She waived her initial court appearance and is set for a probable cause hearing July 24.
