4-H Shooting Sports National Championships kick off in Grand Island
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Hundreds of 4-H shooters are in Grand Island on Monday ready to compete for a national championship in their respective event. Forty states are represented in the field this year. The Heartland Shooting Park and Fonner Park are the backdrop for the national event. Everything from .22 millimeter pistols, to muzzleloaders will be put to the test this week.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (WKRC) - A couple on a journey to visit every Texas Roadhouse hit their 428th location. According to KHGI, Judy and Mike McNamara of Virginia happily retired back in 2018 and have put on 25,000 miles a year to fulfill their goal of visiting every Texas Roadhouse location across the country. Per the station, the couple visited their first location in Tennessee while visiting family and told KHGI that the experience ignited their passion to keep going.
Grand Island man arrested after punching, hitting roommate with beer bottle in the face
GRAND ISLAND — A Grand Island man was arrested after punching and strike his roommate in the face with a beer bottle during the evening of Monday, June 24. According to the Grand Island Police Department, at 7:33 p.m., officers were dispatched to 5th St. in reference to an assault.

Investigators say an Ohio man stabbed Gary and Mary Weaver. Gary died a short time later while Mary was injured in what appears to have been an attempted robbery.
Grand Island man charged with drug trafficking and weapon possession after raid
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A Grand Island man faces charges after a large amount of drugs was found during a search Friday afternoon. Cameron Kokes, 25, is charged in Hall County Court with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) with the intent to distribute, possession of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony and two counts of possession of drug money.
