GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Visitors of Grand Island Public Library were feeling the rhythm during an all-ages musical program. Michael Fitzsimmons brought his program, Drums of the World, to the library on Monday. The composer brought a variety of different flutes, drums and pipes that he acquired from places like Brazil, Cuba, China, East and South Africa, Bolivia, Central America and South America, including drums he personally made for kids to jam out on.

Grand Island business in line to shepherd Hall County Courthouse project
The Hall County Commission is moving right along in its plans to build an addition to the courthouse. On Tuesday, the board voted to begin negotiations with Chief Construction for the company to serve as construction manager at risk for the courthouse addition. If negotiations with Chief go well, a contract will be ratified on July 16.

A Texas teen who got into a high-speed chase on Interstate 80 near Grand Island with his mother's body in the trunk has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for her killing.
