    St. Paul baseball lands 10 on all-league teams, wins sportsmanship award

    St. Paul baseball was heavily featured on the Special District 1 all-league teams after the Buckaroos finished third in league.

    Junior Clay Smith and sophomore Sullivan Grott were selected to the first-team all-league. Seniors Ralph Pohlschneider and Elijah Bonham were second-team all-league selections, joined by junior Diego Medina.

    Five Buckaroos were named as honorable mention selections, with senior George Pohlschneider, juniors Brett Knutson and Grady Wolf and freshmen Wyatt Smith and Bricen Britten all receiving the nod. St. Paul also earned the league's sportsmanship award.

    The Buckaroos finished their campaign at 21-7 (15-6 SD1), losing in the state quarterfinals 15-5 to Blanchet Catholic.

    Softball

    In an historic season that included the program's first-ever home playoff victory, St. Paul was well represented on the all-league teams.

    Junior Amelia Cavazos and senior Isla Haven were first-team all-league selections, while senior Gracie Koch and junior Josey Edwards made the second-team. Seniors Karissa Rosas and Sierra Stoltenberg, meanwhile, were joined on the honorable mention list by junior Payton Whitlock.

    The Buckaroos finished their season at 20-8 (14-7 SD1), losing to league champion Willamina 8-0 in the second round of the state playoffs.
