The Dublin Drop to Launch in St. Petersburg

News broke recently of the planned launch of There Goes the Neighborhood , a brand-new locals-facing neighborhood bar opening in St. Petersburg . Behind There Goes the Neighborhood is the Drink St. Pete Group, the team that brought St. Pete bars like One Night Stand , Tequila Daisy , Whiskey Exchange , and more.

As it turns out, the Drink St. Pete is launching another, separate concept in a space adjacent to There Goes the Neighborhood: The Dublin Drop , a new “Irish-themed party bar,” says recent coverage by St. Pete Rising .

The bar’s menu will have, as its centerpiece, the Dublin Drop. What’s a Dublin Drop? It’s a drink you probably know by a different name, that one that requires the drinker to plunk a shot of Bailey’s Irish Cream into a glass of Guinness. It’s commonly known by a very different and, to say the least, insensitive name (“Irish car bomb”) which one should by no means use on a visit to Ireland.

There will be 15-20 Irish whiskeys, Irish beer, and 15-20 different Dublin Drop varieties. The St. Pete Rising coverage lists several, including the PB&J Drop, “which contains Guinness, Screwball, Chambord, and Baileys”; the Drip Drop, “Guinness, Bailey’s Espresso Crème, and Jameson Café”; and the Banana Drop, “Guinness, Howler Head Banana Whiskey, and Bailey’s Irish Cream.”

This party bar is also going to work to keep prices affordable for guests, Michael Jennings , who heads up the Drink St. Pete Group, told St. Pete Rising.
