    Rays’ Isaac Paredes falls a single short of hitting for the cycle

    ST. PETERSBURG — Every day in batting practice, Isaac Paredes hopefully yells “triple!” Rays manager Kevin Cash usually just rolls his eyes and laughs. Paredes, known for his power but not his speed, had just one triple in his big-league career.

    Until Sunday.

    Parades not only hit his second career triple, but had a home run and a double, finishing just a single shy of hitting for a reverse cycle.

    Paredes began with a home run in the second inning.
