ST. PETERSBURG — Shawn Armstrong was at a loss to explain what happened.

An hour after the worst outing of his 10-year major-league career, the reliable right-hander was still visibly frustrated in the Rays clubhouse following Saturday’s 8-1 loss to the Nationals at Tropicana Field.

He left the stadium looking for answers.

“I played baseball with my son for about an hour and a half after I got home, and then when he went down (to sleep) that’s when we decided to watch the video,” Armstrong said Sunday.
