    5 rescued after 40-foot boat began flooding near a St. Petersburg bridge

    TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Five people were rescued after water began to flood their 40-foot vessel in St. Petersburg on Sunday.

    The U.S. Coast Guard Station in St. Petersburg and Eckerd College Search and Rescue crews were called to help boaters after their vessel took on water near the Pinellas Bayway Bridge.

    Crews said the flooding was caused by a broken hose. Commercial salvage towed the boat ashore.

    No injuries were reported.
