    Evan Longoria on Rays’ stadium plans, Trop return, not playing and more

    ST. PETERSBURG — Evan Longoria knows Tropicana Field, having played more games there — 725, including regular season and postseason — than anyone.

    And during last Saturday’s first in-season visit back since being stunningly traded to the Giants in December 2017, the all-time Rays great said he is hopeful the team gets approval to build its planned new stadium on adjacent land and eager to see how the project develops.

    “I hope that it does work out,” Longoria said.
