Tampa Bay Rays reportedly open to trading All-Star infielder

Coming out of the All-Star break with an even record at 48-48, the Tampa Bay Rays have some decisions to make.

Most notably, they have to make some difficult decisions with the trade deadline less than two weeks away. Given the unlikely case of making the playoffs this season, the Rays are expected to be sellers more than they are buyers.

One of the biggest potential trade chips includes All-Star infielder Isaac Paredes , who could be on the market, according to Andy Martino of SNY.

"Rays All-Star Isaac Paredes is capable of playing all four infield positions. According to league sources, the Rays would at least listen on Paredes," Martino wrote.

It seems unlikely the Rays would trade Paredes in division, but crazier things have happened at the deadline. The New York Yankees desperately need infield help, but trading an All-Star to a division rival is a difficult decision to make.

The 25-year-old is under team control through the 2027 season so his price would be pretty steep. Meanwhile, he's rocking a strong 136 OPS+ with 15 home runs, 50 RBI and 18 doubles in 91 games.

The Rays could likely fetch a top-100 prospect from a team that desperately needs help in the infield so it will be interesting to see what the market looks like for this budding star.
