Residents displaced after fire on Liberty Street in Newburgh
NEWBURGH – Several residents were displaced after a fire at 103 Liberty Street in Newburgh on Thursday night. The blaze at the four-story building was reported at 8:08 p.m. Fire crews identified a strong odor of smoke on the upper three floors, which led to the discovery of a small fire in a bedroom on the third floor. The fire was quickly put out using a single sprinkler, limiting the spread of the fire and smoke damage to the building.

TOWN OF LLOYD – The Lloyd police chief says officers are days away from capturing the man who robbed the Burger King (The King) restaurant in Highland on July 21, after not getting things his way. Chief Jim Janso says his officers responded to the fast food restaurant on Route 9W at 6:45 p.m. Sunday for a report of a robbery and altercation that began at the drive-thru window before the suspect entered the building to argue with the clerk.
