Child, 7, killed in farming accident in Franklin County
A 7-year-old boy died Tuesday morning after a farming accident near Mercersburg, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The child, not named in the police report, got stuck in a piece of machinery while assisting with work in the field. It happened at about 10:15 a.m. at a farm in the area of Mercersburg Road and Young Road, located south of Welsh Run and west of Bino in Montgomery Township.
