Pedal Tractor Pull at the Fair
The Pedal Tractor Pull was held Tuesday evening at the Shippensburg Fairgrounds as an event of the Shippensburg Fair. Dustin Timmons, Chairman of the event said, "We have about 180 boys and girls here this evening between the ages 3-18 and over. They will pedal a toy tractor while pulling a weight. Once they stop pedaling the pull is over and measured in feet and inches. The winner of each age group wins a child's tractor donated by several area sponsors."

The Newville Little League 7 & 8-year-old All-Stars recently competed in the Pennsylvania District 14 Clarence Boyd tournament held in Carlisle from July 10 through July 19. The team finished with a 1-3 record with losses to Greencastle (8-7), Shippensburg (7-3), and Carlisle (7-6), before closing out the tournament with an 8-6 win over South Middleton. Even in the losses, the team was extremely competitive and were able to further develop their skills and knowledge of the game.

Former Franklin County nurse charged in connection with Chambersburg patient's death
A nurse faces charges in connection with the death of a patient at a Franklin County hospital, months after a syringe was found hidden in the deceased person's hospital bed.
