Codorus Valley (CVLY) just unveiled an announcement. On July 1, 2024, Codorus Valley Bancorp, Inc. finalized its merger with Orrstown Financial Services, Inc., creating a significant shift in the banking landscape. Codorus Valley’s stock was transformed into Orrstown stock at a ratio of 0.875, with Orrstown emerging as the surviving entity. Shareholders of Codorus Valley received approximately 8.53 million Orrstown shares in exchange, while Codorus Valley’s equity awards and employee stock purchase plan underwent key conversions and terminations. As a result of the merger, Codorus Valley’s stock ceased trading and was delisted from Nasdaq, while Orrstown’s board of directors expanded to thirteen, including six former Codorus Valley board members.

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. — Frederick Joseph Dietsch, 85, Fayetteville, Pa., proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, died June 4, 2024, at home in the care of his loving wife and children. The only son of Anton and Anna (Uhing) Dietsch, Fred was born March 8, 1939, in Fordyce, the second of four children. After his father’s tragic death, Fred, 9, his three sisters and mom lived with his uncle, Johnny, on a farm near Bow Valley. He graduated high school from St. Joseph’s Technical School, “Techny,” near Chicago, Ill., a Roman Catholic seminary operated by the Society of the Divine Word missionary order.

Anthony Jacob Fritz, 38, and an employee of MVA, located on Colonel Henry K. Douglas Drive, faces one count of making a threat of mass violence and one count of arson threat.

She was the daughter of the late James Franklin Carey Sr., and Thelma M. Carey. She is survived by her son Alan J. Heinbaugh, daughter in law Christina M. Heinbaugh, granddaughter Jerracy L. Heinbaugh, grandson Christopher A. Heinbaugh, grand daughter Amber M. Heinbaugh and two great grandchildren, all of Chambersburg, PA. Darlene was a kind and gentle soul that would always put her family first above anything else. She was a woman of faith and full of nothing but love for everyone around her. A celebration of life will be posted at a later date.

Berenice was born on October 10, 1926, in McConnellsburg, PA, the daughter of the late J. William and Susan Souders Hendershot. She married Clyde J. "Bill" Reasner (deceased 1981). Berenice worked for Corning Manufacturing in Greencastle, PA for 24 years until she retired. Berenice was an avid member of the First Church of God where she participated in many ministries and activities.
