Growing up in Media, Ben Rowe often frequented thrift shops with his mom and grandmother. “I loved the thrill of the hunt and finding hidden gems,” he says. On one thrifting outing during his senior year at Delaware County Christian School, Rowe found the same suit jacket he wore to his prom among the racks. “I remember thinking, ‘I just spent $150 on this suit jacket, and it’s right here for $7,’” he says. “I couldn’t help but think someone else would buy the jacket for more than that.”

Jack Morey, the co-owner of Morey’s Piers in Wildwood, died last week at the age of 63, the company announced. “It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Jack Morey, our beloved 2nd Generation Partner, and for the past three decades, the creative force behind Morey’s Piers. Officer involved firearm discharge incident under investigation in Dover
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are investigating an officer-involved firearm discharge. At around 2:20 p.m. Monday, officers were trying to contact a subject, identified as 22-year-old Millard Richardson, inside a vehicle in the parking lot of the Sleep Inn Hotel. Officers were reportedly trying to arrest Richardson as the result of a firearm and gang investigation and had information that he currently had a firearm, which he is reportedly prohibited from possessing.
Work zone speeders number in the tens of thousands
Speed cameras recently installed in both directions of the I-95 work zone at Route 896 in Newark recorded an astounding number of speeders in the first week of operation. The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) tells WDEL News that between July 8th and July 14th, an average of 18,000 vehicles per day were recorded traveling at least 11 miles per hour over the posted work zone speed limit of 55.
