Akron Children’s expands footprint in Valley

SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) — Akron Children’s is expanding its footprint in the Valley with new partnerships.

Salem Regional Medical Center’s pediatric primary care offices in Columbiana and Salem will join the Akron Children’s Pediatrics network in early August. The practices will be called Akron Children’s Pediatrics, Columbiana and Akron Children’s Pediatrics, Salem.

Akron Children’s Pediatrics, Columbiana will open Aug. 5 inside offices at 116 Carriage Drive in the Firestone Farms TownCenter. Akron Children’s Pediatrics, Salem will open Aug. 6 and will remain at its current location at 1076 E. State St. in Salem.

The offices will be staffed by the same physicians with Akron Children’s certified nurse practitioner Christina Hurst joining both practices.

“Columbiana and Salem will join our East Liverpool and Lisbon offices in serving the Columbiana County area, increasing our network to 44 primary care locations,” said Brian Dinger, vice president of the Akron Children’s primary care network. “We’re meeting families where they are, so they can receive exceptional pediatric primary care that’s close to home.”

Both offices will provide access to Akron Children’s experts if a patient needs a specialist, an after-hours nurse line and e-visits.

All the tools of MyChart will also be available.
