Law Enforcement in South Carolina plans to crackdown on drunk drivers
SPARTANBURG, S.C. — With the 4th of July just a day away law enforcement in the Upstate is amping up their presence on the highway. The Spartanburg Police Department said they are partnering with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to focus on impaired driving awareness through education and high-visibility enforcement.
Shaw Industries Faces Lawsuit for PFAS Pollution in South Carolina
Shaw Industries, a major textile manufacturer in Irmo, stands accused in a lawsuit filed by environmental groups, including the Congaree Riverkeeper organization and the Southern Environmental Law Center. The lawsuit alleges that Shaw has been polluting South Carolina’s lower Saluda River with toxic forever chemicals known as per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). These pollutants have been detected upstream of the West Columbia and Cayce drinking water systems, raising concerns about public health risks and environmental damage.

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol has released information regarding a delayed death following a crash in Pickens County. According to troopers, the single-vehicle crash happened on June 20, just before 6 p.m., on Kings Way Drive near Bethany Hills Drive outside of Liberty, South Carolina.
