    3 with previous convictions charged after drugs and guns found in Salem home

    SALEM, W.Va. (WBOY) — Three people who each have previous convictions are facing charges after a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine was found in a Salem home, as well as several firearms.

    The search of the Main Street home happened at around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, according to a criminal complaint. Clarence Rheinhardt, Jonie Mayle and Raymond Thompson were all inside the home at the time of the search, according to the complaint.

    West Virginia State Police troopers found multiple containers with a “large amount” of a substance that later field tested positive for methamphetamine, as well as three digital scales, multiple cell phones, $207 in cash, two pistols, two rifles and a shotgun.

    According to the criminal complaints filed against them, Rheinhardt, Mayle and Thompson all have previous convictions, with Thompson convicted of manufacture, sale, delivery or holding offering sale of a controlled substance in Pennsylvania; Rheinhardt, convicted of domestic battery in Harrison County in 2019; and Mayle convicted of domestic battery in Harrison County in 2017.

    Thompson was charged with:

    • One count of possession with intent to deliver
    • One count of conspiracy to commit a felony
    • Five counts of prohibited person in possession of firearms

    Rheinhardt and Mayle were each charged with:

    • One count of possession with intent to deliver
    • One count of conspiracy to commit a felony

    They are all being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
