    SCCC EDUCATORS RISING COMPETES AT NATIONAL COMPETITION

    The Saline County Career Center Educators Rising chapter participated in the National Educators Rising competition and conference from June 28 through July 2, 2024.

    Ten members competed in Washington, D.C. in events that displayed their skills in public speaking, professionalism, and critical thinking. There were over 3,300 students from all over the country who participated in this year’s conference and competition.

    SCCC chapter members competed in six different competition categories.

    -Morgan Allen: Exploring Non-Core Subject Teaching Careers with Mr. Michael O’Neill
    -Trevieon Carter: Creative Lecture (TED Talk)
    -Alexus Christensen: Exploring Administration Careers with Mrs. Julie Geritz
    -Sophia Christy, Cheyenne Hendrix-Woodward, and Claire Glenn: Researching Learning Challenges
    -Kylie Dillon: Exploring Support Services Careers with Mrs. Sarah Otto
    -Presley Duncan: Exploring Administration Careers with Mr. Kelly Callanan
    -Adraya Graham: Project Visualize
    -Jayci Trelow: Exploring Support Services Careers with Mrs. Audrey Ming

    Alexus Christensen earned 3rd place in the National Competition for Exploring Administration Careers. Presley Duncan earned 4th place in the same category. Adraya Graham earned 3rd place for Project Visualize, where she presented on the SCCC Educators Rising book drive service project.

    Presley Duncan and Kylie Dillon represented Missouri as delegates at the National Conference. Missouri had five delegates that were able to vote on next year’s Educators Rising slogan, national service project, and national by-laws.

    This is the fourth year the SCCC Educators Rising chapter competed at the national level. It was announced that next summer’s competition will be held in Orlando, Florida.
