A Salisbury woman has been charged with driving while impaired, fleeing and eluding and more after deputies say she crashed her into a Salisbury home and then hit a Sheriff's Office vehicle Thursday evening.

On July 11, 2024, at 514 p.m., Wicomico County Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Swan Road, Salisbury, for the report a vehicle that had just hit a house. A caller reported that the driver of the suspect vehicle was intoxicated. Deputies arrived to see the suspect vehicle, a 2019 Chevy Equinox with heavy front-end damage, fleeing from the scene.

Deputies attempted to stop the Equinox, but the vehicle fled. After a short pursuit, the deputies were able to stop the car. The driver and only occupant, Karli Church, 23, of Salisbury then rammed a Sheriff’s Office cruiser and ran over a curb to escape.

Deputies again pursued the vehicle. During the pursuit, Church drove recklessly and ignored traffic laws. Church drove the Chevy to the Route 50 Bypass, where she lost control and hit a guardrail. Church continued to flee and exited the Bypass, heading back towards Salisbury. Deputies stopped the Chevy again on Adventist Drive at West Road, where Church was arrested.
