AREA FBLA CHAPTER COMPETES AT NATIONALS

The Salisbury Future Business Leaders of America chapter had nine members attend and compete at the FBLA National Leadership Conference, which was held June 28 to July 2 in Orlando, Florida.

More than 12,000 student members from across the nation attended the conference. Members competed in knowledge and skills tests and presentations.

The following Salisbury students were in attendance, Testers: Cate Atkinson (Introduction to Business Communication), Zane Duncan (Introduction to Information Technology); Skills and Test: Ashtyn Gladbach (Word Processing, and Presentations: Taryn Nanneman, Morgan Sellers, Karlie Schiltz (Introduction to Social Media Strategies), and Adeline Emmerich, Taylor Nolke, Lily Rowe (Visual Design).

Each member/group was up against 100 to 200 competitors depending on their event.

At the Awards of Excellence Ceremony on July 2, Ashtyn Gladbach, received recognition on stage and placed third in the nation in her Word Processing event.

The Salisbury chapter was also recognized as a Gold Seal chapter and a Silver level National Champion Chapter. To be recognized as a Champion Chapter, the chapter engaged in several activities throughout the school year to increase membership engagement, grow career-readiness, as well as personal development and leadership skills.
