    Multiple pet deaths reported in Salt Lake City Avenues area

    SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — Salt Lake County Animal Services is warning the public after receiving multiple reports of pets found deceased.

    “Attention SLC Avenues residents and surrounding areas:” the organization posted on social media Saturday. “Salt Lake County Animal Services has received multiple reports of pets found deceased, suspected to be victims of wildlife attacks.”

    There have reportedly been coyote sightings in the area. Salt Lake County Animal Services said these animals, in particular, are known to attack and kill cats and small dogs.

    “Keep your pets indoors or on a leash when they are outside with you,” the organization stated.

    Other wildlife, such as raccoons, bobcats, cougars, and bears, can also be dangerous to pets in Utah.

    “Please stay alert and take all necessary precautions to protect your pets,” officials said.
