The Utah Jazz and restricted free agent guard Johnny Juzang agreed to a four-year, $12 million contract on Friday, according to multiple reports.

Utah Jazz guard Johnny Juzang has averaged 6.1 points, 2.0 rebounds through 38 career NBA games

Through 38 career games (five starts) with Utah, Juzang has averaged 6.1 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 15.9 minutes per game while shooting 40.2% from the field, 33.6% from 3-point range, and 66.7% at the free throw line.

The 6-foot-5, 209-pound guard started his college career at the University of Kentucky in the 2019-20 season, playing behind Tyrese Maxey and Immanuel Quickley before transferring to UCLA.

Juzang, 23, played on consecutive two-way contracts with the Jazz after going undrafted out of UCLA in 2022. In 18 games off the bench during his rookie 2022-23 season, he averaged 4.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and just 12.9 minutes per contest.

Last season, in 20 games (five starts) with Utah, he averaged career highs of 7.2 points, 1.2 assists, and 18.6 minutes per game while shooting career bests of 46.4% from the floor, 41.6% from beyond the arc, and 71.4% at the foul line.

Juzang posted a career-high 27 points in a 118-110 loss against the Golden State Warriors on April 7

On March 4, Juzang scored a then-season-high 10 points, four rebounds, and one assist in 20 minutes as a reserve against the Washington Wizards. It was more than enough to impress Jazz head coach Will Hardy.

“I do want to shout out Johnny Juzang. I thought he played 20 rock-solid minutes. Johnny’s worked really hard since he got with us last year,” Hardy said.

“He’s a guy who probably hasn’t gotten enough opportunity based on the roster, timing, and health. Without question, Johnny has worked incredibly hard for the last year and a half and has really improved.”

Then in Utah’s 118-110 loss to the Golden State Warriors on April 7, he recorded a career-high 27 points on 9-of-12 (75%) shooting from the field, 7-of-8 (87.5%) from deep, and 2-of-3 (66.7%) at the line. His seven 3-pointers were also a career best.

In 33 Showcase Cup and regular-season games last season with the Salt Lake City Stars, the Jazz’s G League affiliate, Juzang averaged 20.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game on 46.5% shooting from the field and 36.9% from downtown.
