SLC airport hosts private send-off party for Olympic athletes, Utah leaders

SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) — Utah leaders and Olympic athletes are boarding a Team USA livery aircraft to Paris on Monday afternoon — and the Salt Lake City Department of Airports hosted a private send-off party prior to their departure.

Utah leaders — including Governor Spencer Cox, Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall, and Committee President Fraser Bullock — will join Olympic and Paralympic athletes on the flight to the Paris Olympics.

The leaders spoke at a private send-off party that took place ahead of the flight at the Salt Lake City airport.

ABC4 sent a crew to attend the send-off party and live-streamed it online.
