Federal health authorities are once again urging people to check their spice racks and cabinets for certain cinnamon products after testing found lead in multiple additional brands. Short-term exposure to very low levels of lead may not result in symptoms, but longer-term exposure to the metal can cause permanent damage to the central nervous system, resulting in learning disorders and other developmental defects in children, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The Oak Ridge Boys, the legendary country / gospel band, have had a tough 2023 and 2024. Longtime members Duane Allen, who joined in 1966; William Lee, who joined in 1965; and Richard Sterban, who joined in 1972, were set to celebrate 50 years of performing together with Joe Bonsall, who joined in 1973. Unfortunately late last year Bonsall had to leave behind his touring days and begin his well-deserved retirement. He sadly died earlier this summer, but his memories live on thanks to the enthralling music he and the Boys created over the years.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation police officers (ECOs) recently ticketed a Catskills man for killing a timber rattlesnake. ECOs Doig and Osborne received an anonymous tip on July 4 that a man in Hancock had intentionally killed a timber rattlesnake. Woman stabbed twice in random NYC subway attack
A woman in her 20s was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday night after being stabbed repeatedly in a Queens subway station, authorities say. Police said Monday the 23-year-old victim was stabbed at least twice -- in the chest and abdomen -- at the Van Wyck and Jamaica Avenue station, in the mezzanine area, around 8:30 p.m. the night before.
