Federal health authorities are once again urging people to check their spice racks and cabinets for certain cinnamon products after testing found lead in multiple additional brands. Short-term exposure to very low levels of lead may not result in symptoms, but longer-term exposure to the metal can cause permanent damage to the central nervous system, resulting in learning disorders and other developmental defects in children, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of an Elmont woman for an Assault that occurred on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 3:25 PM in Elmont. According to detectives, officers responded to a Belmont Boulevard residence for a disturbance. Upon police arrival, officers were informed that the Defendant Zaire Steele, 18, was involved in a verbal argument with another female in the residence. The First Squad reports the arrest of three individuals for a Robbery that occurred on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 1:23 a.m. in Baldwin. According to Detectives, Officers responded to a call at Ultra Lanes, located at 2407 Grand Avenue, for an Assault. Upon arrival, Officers discovered that a security guard of the establishment was the victim of an assault. Further investigation revealed that the defendants: Davian Campbell, 26, of 3615 Bertha Drive, Baldwin, Danny Daniels, 26, 1425 E. 94th Street, Brooklyn and Ariel Sariah Gangadeen, 25, of 668 E 85th Street, Brooklyn were being disruptive and refused to leave, they began punching, kicking, choking, and throwing bowling balls at the victim. They also stole the victim’s phone and fled the scene in a white BMW.

The First Squad reports the arrest of three individuals for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance that occurred on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at 1:55 a.m. in Roosevelt. According to Detectives, Officers initiated a lawful Vehicle Traffic stop in the vicinity of Nassau Road and E. Greenwich Avenue for a grey Dodge Durango that was speeding. Subsequent to a further investigation, an illegal loaded firearm, metal knuckles, and a white powdery substance believed to be crack cocaine were recovered. All three occupants of the vehicle were arrested without incident, defendants: Edward Tyler Johnson, 30, of 10 Sutton Place in Deer Park, Paul Scott, 34, of 13 Waterford Drive in Wyandanch, and Andre Yates, 36, of 16 Park Center Drive in Deer Park.
