Food insecurity in Chicago - Should you consider Meals on Wheels for free meals?

A study published by Crain's Chicago Business clarifies that every one out of five Chicago residents faces the problem of lack of food. It means so many families have no or limited access to nutritious food.

Meals on Wheels is a one-of-its-kind food program for Chicago residents that aims to ensure the health and well-being of senior citizens and people with disabilities. If you are one or know someone in your family who needs easy and quick access to nutritious meals, this program is worthwhile.

MOWC has partnered with the Chicago Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities and The Chicago Department of Family and Support Services to benefit a large number of people. Homebound seniors aged 60 or more or disabled people aged 18 or older are eligible for the benefits. The range of meals is vegetarian and others.
