Plainsmen Prevail Over Mustangs in Rivalry Showdown

LUBBOCK, TX — The Monterey Plainsmen faced off against the Coronado Mustangs in the highly anticipated "50th Street vs. 34th Street" rivalry game during Coronado’s homecoming on Friday, October 4. Although both 5A teams came into the matchup with 1-4 records, Monterey faced a much tougher non-district schedule. Nevertheless, the Mustangs kept it close in the first half, trailing by just 9 points. However, the Plainsmen hit their stride in the second half, showcased their dominance and secured a victory, 42-12. Highlights of the game are below:
