Texas Tech Soccer Honored by Big 12, Led by Defender of the Year Macy Blackburn
IRVING, TX — Texas Tech women's soccer saw eight players earn Big 12 Conference honors on Tuesday, October 29, highlighted by defender Macy Blackburn’s selection as Big 12 Defender of the Year and her second career First Team All-Big 12 recognition. Shaffer Funeral Home Unveils San Angelo's Newest Sheep
SAN ANGELO, TX — Shaffer Funeral Home has unveiled San Angelo’s newest sheep. “Peaceful Ewe” is displayed in front of the business at 1939 Sherwood Way. The fiberglass sheep was designed by local artist Zoe Flores. The sheep is part of Downtown San Angelo Inc.’s Sheeptacular fundraising art project, which now includes well over 100 sheep around the city. Mary Boudoin, managing director at Shaffer Funeral Home, said “Peaceful Ewe” was painted to have its wool look like the sky, which signifies going to Heaven. Learn More Here.

Police Chief Shooter Extradited to Childress County
CHILDRESS COUNTY, TX — The Childress County Sheriff’s Office released an update on the arrest of Seth Altman, 33, who was taken into custody on Friday in Fort Worth after a weeks-long search. Altman was wanted in connection with the shooting injury of Memphis Police Chief Rex Plant. Altman faces a charge of attempted capital murder of a peace officer or fireman stemming from an incident on October 3, when Chief Plant was shot while attempting to serve a burglary warrant at a home. Russia Imposes $2.5 Decillion Fine on Google Over YouTube Channel Bans
MOSCOW — Russia has levied a record-breaking $2.5 decillion fine on Google for failing to restore access to YouTube channels belonging to pro-Kremlin media outlets, according to reports from Russian state media outlet RBC. A decillion is a number represented by 1 followed by 33 zeros in the United States, or 1 followed by 60 zeros in some European countries. $2.5 decillion is a larger number than the amount of sand grains on planet Earth. Battery Franchise Expands in West Texas with 5 New Stores
ODESSA, TX - Batteries Plus, a specialty battery franchise, has awarded a five-unit franchise deal to expand its footprint in West Texas. Liz and Jay McKee, the couple awarded the franchise rights, will open new stores in Odessa, Midland, Lubbock, Abilene, and Big Spring.
