San Angelo ISD Releases High School Bell Schedules
SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo ISD recently announced the bell schedules for its high school campuses for the 2024-2025 school year. The start time for Central High School will not change from last year. School begins at 8:20 a.m., with the first warning bell sounding at 8:15 a.m. Lake View High School will change its start time this year. The new start time for Lake View High School will be 8:30 a.m., with the first warning bell sounding at 8:25 a.m. High school release time will be 3:59 p.m. Learn More Here.
Rollover in Mereta
SAN ANGELO, TX — A Ram 3500 dually pickup truck was in a single-vehicle rollover crash at around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. July 17, 2024. The truck was outfitted with a flatbed and welding rack in lieu of a traditional pickup truck bed. The result of the rollover crash appeared to have trapped the occupant as the passenger door appeared to have been forcibly opened in the rescue. President Biden Tests Positive for COVID-19
WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 following his first event in Las Vegas, the White House announced today. The President, who is vaccinated and boosted, is experiencing mild symptoms and will return to Delaware to self-isolate. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that President Biden will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during his isolation period. Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Parts of West Central Texas
SAN ANGELO, TX – The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of west central Texas, including southwestern Coke County, southeastern Sterling County, and north central Tom Green County. The warning is in effect until 6:30 p.m. At 5:48 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was detected near U.S. Highway 87 at the Coke-Tom Green County line, near Broome. The storm is nearly stationary, information stated. The main hazards from this storm include wind gusts up to 60 mph and penny-sized hail. Learn More Here.
20 Dogs Face Euthanasia as Animal Shelter Exceeds Capacity
SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Animal Shelter is urgently seeking adopters and fosters as it exceeds its capacity, with 199 dogs currently housed onsite. The shelter must reduce its population to below 180 dogs by 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, to avoid the euthanasia of 20 dogs. Concho Valley PAWS has announced that all adoptions for at-risk dogs are free, including vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter services, and additional perks such as a free in-home consultation and a month of group obedience classes.
