SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — Tom Green County is under a burn ban currently, and residents are reminded to celebrate safely amid ongoing dry conditions.

Although there is a burn limitation in Tom Green County, this does not prohibit the use of fireworks. However, using fireworks inside the city limits of San Angelo is strictly prohibited and any grilling or cooking must take place in a controlled environment.

Fire Marshal Billy Clemons urged caution, highlighting the region’s dry state.

“The conditions here are dry. We have a drought index of about 558 right now. If you’re out there grilling or using fireworks, please be safe and make sure you have measures to prevent any fires,” Clemons stated.

The community is encouraged to celebrate responsibly and help keep the Concho Valley safe.
