SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — An 18-year-old Angelo State University nursing student who is helping support her mother was surprised with $300 through the KLST Pay It Forward campaign sponsored by Carpet Tech.

Lori’s mom Patricia described her daughter as her best friend who is passionate and continues to support her after she lost her job.

“The first words out of her mouth were ‘I got you, momma,’” Patricia said. “She picked up more hours. She is going to ASU to study nursing so she has been doing everything for me.”

Lori continues to provide food for her mother and pay the bills with a smile on her face.

When asked what advice she has for students in similar situations, Lori said to keep powering through.

“It will get better eventually,” she said.

“It will all work out. It will all be worth it in the end.”

If you know someone who deserves a little help from the KLST Pay it Forward Campaign, sponsored by Carpet Tech, keep a lookout for Senora Scott — she’ll be holding the “KLST Pay it Forward” sign — and let her know why that person should get that week’s award.
