New Mercantile shop opens on Historic Concho Avenue

SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) —A new addition to San Angelo’s historic Concho Avenue is now open for business.

The Rhome 1931 Mercantile, located at 8 East Concho, celebrated its grand opening today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by members of the Chamber of Commerce Cocho Cadre.

The shop, housed in a restored space, is described by owner Carol Edwards as a “family affair.” Edwards expressed how her dream of opening a mercantile became a reality with the support of her family.

“I smarted off to my husband, saying I didn’t think my dream would ever come true. He immediately sold his pickup, handed me the cash, and told me to go and pursue my dream.” Edwards said.

Edwards also added that with a little extra help from her aunt and her dad, she was able to make it happen.
