    Earthquakes rattle San Angelo for second consecutive day

    SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) —A 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck approximately 13 kilometers north-northeast of Hermleigh, Texas on Saturday, July 27 at 4:08 p.m.

    Occurring at a depth of 3.4 kilometers, the earthquake was felt across the region, including San Angelo, about 100 miles southeast of Snyder. The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the shaking reached level VIII on the DYFI intensity scale.

    This quake follows a series of tremorous activities in the area. Over the past week, Scurry County has experienced more than 60 earthquakes, including the significant 5.0 magnitude quake recorded on the morning of July 26.

    At this time no immediate report of damage has been confirmed.
