Five Wall baseball players highlight the Texas Sports Writer Association all-state team

Five players from the Wall baseball team were named to the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 3A All-State baseball team released Tuesday.

University of Oklahoma commit Gunnar Dillard was named the first-team catcher after posting a .564 batting average, adding 17 doubles, five home runs and three triples his junior season.

Junior Luke Kemp was named to the second team after finishing the season with a .468 batting average, a .532 on-base percentage, 12 doubles, six home runs and two triples.

Senior pitcher and shortstop Augden Hallmark, a Midland College commit, and senior third baseman Will Scherr made the third team after strong final seasons for the Hawks. Rounding out the awards for Wall was senior second baseman Matt Steen who received an honorable mention in his final year.
