Rohnert Park Driver Arrested For Driving Under the Influence of Drugs and Possessing Drugs
A man in Rohnert Park has been arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and possessing drugs. On Wednesday night, officers pulled over Trevor Sundstrom for a moving violation and determined that he was under the influence of a drug. After seeing drug paraphernalia in plain view, officers searched the vehicle and found 28 grams of suspected fentanyl, 4 grams of suspected meth, and additional drug paraphernalia. Sundstrom was arrested after performing poorly on field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI, possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Two people were killed after a car went down a cliff on Highway 1 near Devil's Slide on Friday, the California Highway Patrol said. Just before 11:30 a.m., the CHP said they responded to a report of a vehicle off the side of a road on Highway 1 just south of Devil's Slide. This incident caused Highway 1 to be shut down in both directions.

Influential Wine Country Architect Howard Backen Dies at 88
Anyone who has spent time in Napa has likely been in a Howard Backen-designed building. The prolific co-founder of Backen & Backen Architecture designed upwards of 300 private homes, 40 restaurants and more than 60 wineries, many of which are located in Napa Valley. His signature farmhouse-chic style champions functionality and natural harmony, favors discreet affluence over ostentation, and has defined the Napa aesthetic over the last three decades. Backen, arguably one of Napa's most influential figures without ever touching a wine grape, died July 22 at 88.
