According to a recently submitted permit application, Taqueria Arandas at 9222 Zarzamora Street in San Antonio — near establishments such as Arnold Park, Chica’sBakery y Mas, and La Esquina — is planning to undergo renovations.

The “complete remodeling project, with a little addition in the bathrooms and kitchen,” is scheduled to begin on May 20, 2024, and be completed on May 10, 2025. For an estimated $325,000, local firm Duran Design Group LLC is tasked with carrying out the project.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the concept’s owner, Manuel Cerrillo , to inquire about the updates, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Taqueria Arandas, the business describes itself as “a long-running Tex-Mex chain specializing in taco-truck fare.” According to its Facebook page, it operates “more than 25 locations in and around Houston, Katy, [and] Baytown.”

A reopening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
