    Every year, the Alamo City hosts the longest-running Latino film festival in the nation. The 45th annual edition of CineFestival returns, but this time with two screening locations — the Little Carver Civic Center at the Carver Community Cultural Center and Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Park North.

    CineFestival fast facts

    The festival runs Thursday, July 11 through Sunday, July 14, and aims to recognize, celebrate, and support Latin + Indigenous filmmakers across Texas. Presented by the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center , the festival will feature 75 films spanning across genres includes:
    • Thriller
    • Short films
    • Documentaries
    • Sci-fi
    • Comedy
    • Coming of Age

    • ...and the Earth Did Not Swallow Him / ...y no se lo tragó la tierra ” | Saturday, July 13 | 4 p.m. | Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Park North, 618 NW Loop 410 Suite 307 | From local writer + filmmaker Severo Perez comes a movie adaption of "...y no se lo trago la tierra” set in 1952.
    • Estela, Is It You? ” | Sunday, July 14 | 8 p.m. | Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Park North, 618 NW Loop 410 Suite 307 | A grieving woman communicates with her dead husband through the car radio, tickets for two please.
    • Mint Chocolate Chip ” | Sunday, July 14 | 3 p.m. | The Little Carver Civic Center, 226 N. Hackberry St. | This two-minute short film follows a young boy making a decision: Ice cream or friendship?

    What to know before you go

    • Free screenings are taking place across its two locations.
    • All films that are not in English include subtitles.
    • The All Access Pass is $45.
