According to MySA , Max & Louie’s New York Diner is expanding — gearing up to debut a new bakery concept, Melvin’s , that will “satiate San Antonio’s sweet tooth with fresh espresso, homemade ice cream, and baked goods.”

“It’s a definite work in progress,” owner Drew Glick recently shared on the locally operated podcast The More You Know, the Better It Tastes — adding that it was named in honor of his father.

The bakery will be attached to Max & Louie’s New York Diner at 226 W. Bitters Road , Suite 126 . “Essentially, they’ll cut a hole in the wall so both concepts are attached,” the Journal reports.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Glick, the local restaurateur is behind the now-shuttered concept Drew’s American Grill, as well as Max & Louie’s — “a beloved diner has earned a strong following with their massive menu of diner classics including breakfast platters and New York Deli sandwiches,” according to MySA .

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
