FCSO: Plush beaver dolls stuffed with illegal drugs found during traffic stop

FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A warrant is pending for a San Antonio man after a traffic stop in Fayette County led to the discovery of illegal drugs hidden in odd places. A Fayette County Sheriff’s deputy found plush beaver dolls stuffed with illegal drugs, according to a social media post from FSCO .

The deputy conducted that traffic stop around 1:10 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 10 westbound, near the 665 mile marker for “a traffic infraction,” FCSO said. That is between Schulenburg and Flatonia.

The driver gave consent to the deputy to search the vehicle, according to the agency. During that search, the deputy smelled marijuana in the vehicle, FCSO said. That is when the deputy found the the plush beaver dolls in the back seat.

When the deputy felt the plush beaver dolls, he noticed they were “re-stitched,” according to FCSO. That is when the deputy found the plush beaver dolls had “packages of marijuana and ecstasy,” the agency said.

The driver told the deputy “he was suffering from chest pain,” and EMS responded to the location of the traffic stop and took him to a local hospital, the agency said.

However, FCSO said the marijuana and ecstasy were “seized,” and officials said “a warrant will be issued” for the man. Additionally, the agency said the marijuana weighed more than two pounds.

The incident remained under investigation by FCSO Wednesday.
