SAN AUGUSTINE, Texas ( KETK ) – Several lineworkers and safety personnel volunteered to help the Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative (DETEC) to restore power in areas hit hard by Beryl.
DETEC, which serves parts of Panola, Nacogdoches, San Augustine, Sabine, Rusk and Shelby counties, said as of 2 p.m. on Tuesday power was restored to their substations with the help other co-ops.
Trinity Valley Electric Co-op (TVEC) workers were among those that decided to assist in power restoration efforts in deep East Texas to “continue the tradition of co-ops helping co-ops.”
TVEC said just a few weeks ago, other Texas electric cooperative crews gave them a helping hand and they wanted to do the same after Beryl .
